Madge Gill, Untitled (Mediumistic Drawing) n.d.
After a catalogue of tragedy in her personal life and after losing the use of her right eye, Madge started to write, draw and embroider. She mostly worked by oil lamp at night, and her interest in spiritualism greatly influenced her work which often featured ‘Myrninerest’ a spirit guide who she would set within a background of pattern and texture.
